• Develop a business plan, prospect for clients, and responsibly manage client relationships.
• Possibly bring on staff to help with general administrative duties and sales as your agency grows.
• Sell Shelter Insurance products and develop prospects in your agency market.

• A motivated attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit with the capacity to communicate effectively with clients in a sales atmosphere.
• Some sales experience and a degree with general business courses is helpful, but not required.
• Training and education: in-house and virtual new agent training schools, plus continuing industry education courses.
• No capital/assets are required on hand to be considered for an agency.
• Shelter does not loan money to begin an agency; the opportunity is provided with expectations to meet sales requirements and core business proficiencies.
