CNC Mill Machinist
This role focuses on programming, setting up, and operating CNC vertical milling machines in a prototype and small production environment. You will work in a small, collaborative shop where you handle parts from start to finish, including programming, machining, and quality checks, while also assisting with general shop duties as needed.
Program, edit, set up, and run CNC vertical machining centers, handling jobs from start to finish. Split time approximately 50/50 between programming and hands-on machining operations. Operate Saginaw 20 Vertical Machining Centers with MTI and Fanuc controllers. Use Work NC software to create and modify CNC programs; adapt quickly if coming from Mastercam experience. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate machining of parts.
Set up work pieces, tooling, and fixtures on CNC vertical mills and manual Bridgeport machines. Operate manual Bridgeport mills equipped with Acu-Rite controllers for prototype and small-run work.
Minimum of 5 years of machining experience. Hands-on experience with 3-axis vertical machining. Proven ability to write, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs for vertical machining centers. Experience setting up and running Saginaw vertical machining centers. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. Proficiency in setting up, programming, and running CNC vertical mills.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Macomb, MI. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
