A client of Insight Global is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of a luxury Life Plan Community. This role combines accounting responsibilities with resident-facing customer service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both financial operations and building relationships with residents. The position is responsible for managing resident billing, cash posting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, forecasting, and payment processing across multiple systems, including Workday and Matrix Care/AOD.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, personable, and comfortable communicating directly with residents regarding their accounts and financial questions. This position will be onsite at the facility Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.
- Manage resident admissions and discharges within financial and billing systems.
- Maintain resident accounts and accurately assign payor sources, including private pay, Medicare, and other payment arrangements.
- Process resident billing, cash receipts, miscellaneous transactions, bad debt entries, and sales tax transactions within Matrix Care/AOD.
- Download and map financial data between Workday and Matrix Care to ensure both systems remain synchronized.
- Generate financial exports and upload accounting data into Workday.
- Support month-end close activities and ensure financial records reconcile between accounting systems.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations utilizing Black Line.
- Review budget allocations and perform budget scrubs to ensure expenses are recorded appropriately.
- Post cash transactions and maintain accurate records through various applications, including CAMS.
- Process Medicare payments and resident account drafts totaling approximately $1.3M–$1.4M monthly.
- Manage payments to hospitals and process ACH and wire transactions to Advocate Health.
- Research and process resident refunds by reviewing contracts, validating eligibility, obtaining supporting documentation, and completing approvals.
- Assist with budgeting and census forecasting activities.
- Coordinate cash requests and deposits through banking partners, including Truist Bank.
- Support check processing and approval workflows.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for residents regarding account balances, billing questions, and dining account transactions.
- Assist with the implementation and testing of a new dining system, including importing and validating resident dining transactions for billing statements.
- Support special projects and system transitions while ensuring financial accuracy and exceptional resident service.
