Position Overview
The Stetson‑Hatcher School of Business at Mercer University is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Graduate Assistant to support the Director of Operations and the Executive Assistant to the Dean. This role provides hands‑on experience in the operational management of a leading academic institution, assisting with administrative tasks, event coordination, data management, and special projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily administrative support to the Director of Operations and Executive Assistant, including scheduling, communications, and general office management.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing events, meetings, and workshops for the School of Business.
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for strategic initiatives and operational processes.
- Prepare documents, presentations, and reports for internal and external use.
- Manage filing systems, databases, and correspondence tracking to ensure smooth information flow.
- Collaborate across departments to assist with cross‑functional projects and initiatives.
- Manage special projects assigned by the Director of Operations and Executive Assistant, contributing to continuous process improvement.
- Serve as a point of contact for both internal and external communications, responding promptly and professionally.
- Assist with creation and sustainment of student and faculty Mentor List.
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Mercer University (preferably in Business, Management, or a related field).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software and tools quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Prior administrative or operations experience is a plus but not required.
20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate the student's academic schedule.
CompensationThis position offers a stipend, tuition assistance, or hourly wage, depending on the graduate assistantship arrangement, up to $13 per hour.
RequirementsMust be enrolled in the SHSB MBA in‑person program (potentially online).
