The Deputy Clerk III provides clerical support to the Clerk of the Juvenile Court. The role involves managing court records, assisting with hearing schedules, processing legal documents, and serving as an on‑call resource for dependency cases.

Responsibilities
  • Attend arraignment hearings, operate the court recording system, and maintain hearing files.
  • Process incoming dependency and delinquency complaints, citations, petitions, motions, and probation violations; enter and update case information in the court management database; schedule hearings and assign cases to the appropriate calendar.
  • Prepare and distribute court calendars.
  • Provide customer service to the public, court‑associated agencies, and court personnel; collect fines and fees, issue receipts, record payments, and process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Serve as an on‑call rotation to handle emergency calls related to dependency cases.
  • Follow up on missing orders, incomplete filings, pending reports, or other documentation needed for court hearings.
  • Maintain hearing logs, calendar notes, and case flow tracking tools as directed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of administrative, legal, court government, social services, case coordination, or office support experience preferred.
  • Equal combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator’s License required.
  • Knowledge of juvenile court laws, court operations, relevant state laws, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong discretion, professionalism, confidentiality, diplomacy, and sound judgment in a court setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to achieve results on a timely basis and adapt to changing needs.
