Job Summary

The Human Resources Student Assistant will assist all members of the Human Resources team in various projects and tasks in order to gain an overall knowledge of the different areas and functions of Human Resources.

Responsibilities
  • Performs administrative, clerical tasks
  • Drafts, and files important documents accordingly
  • Provides support for incoming/outgoing phone communications
  • Supports the front office reception area to include greetings and directing visitors, students, faculty and staff
  • Assists with various documents, databases, and spreadsheets
  • Assist with creating training packets and with preparation of special events
  • Maintains reception area in a clean and organized manner
  • Adheres to the code of confidentiality
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Office of Human Resources
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current enrolled Middle Georgia State University Student
  • Must be enrolled at least 6 credit hours
  • Must comply with strict confidentiality of information
  • The work is typically performed both sitting at a desk and physically moving around campus by standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee will lift light, heavy, or bulky objects, push carts between buildings, and use tools effectively.
  • Working with colleagues to accomplish tasks is required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Forms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Dependable, professional, and committed to providing quality support to the Office of Human Resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with population.
