St. Vincent’s Academy, an all-girls Catholic, Mercy college-preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is seeking a full-time Chemistry Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. The ideal candidate is a passionate, knowledgeable educator who is committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and the education of young women in a mission-driven environment.
Course Assignments- CP Chemistry
- Honors / Pre-AP Chemistry
- AP Chemistry
- Teach high school chemistry courses at multiple academic levels, including Advanced Placement
- Design and deliver engaging, rigorous, and inquiry-based instruction aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning
- Create a positive, respectful, and academically challenging classroom environment
- Support and uphold the Catholic identity and Mercy mission of St. Vincent’s Academy
- Use varied instructional strategies and assessments to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate academic records and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Collaborate with the Science Department and participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification
- Experience teaching high school chemistry required; AP Chemistry experience strongly preferred
- Strong content knowledge and effective classroom management skills
- Commitment to Catholic education and the formation of young women
- Willingness to contribute to the spiritual, academic, and extracurricular life of the school
