Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties.

Department Information

The School of Business has programs that prepare students to solve problems and apply new technologies within an increasingly interconnected and changing business world. We emphasize career success through lifelong learning and professional development at all levels of the curriculum. The School offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in General Business, Accounting, Financial Economics, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management.

A Master of Science in Management and a Master of Business in Professional Leadership are also offered at the graduate level.

Job Summary

The School of Business is currently seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Management. This is a ten-month, tenure track position, which involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Faculty members at Middle Georgia State University have the opportunity to work with a talented team of colleagues, engage with motivated and enthusiastic students, and pursue research interests in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

As a faculty member you will teach on-campus, hybrid, dual enrollment, and/or online courses in management including Strategic Management, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Principles of Management, and other business courses as qualified. Teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate and graduate level (Master) programs. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to outstanding teaching, research, advising students, and service to the profession and university.

This is a 10-month position with summer teaching available depending on demand. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower level and/or upper-level business courses. Travel to satellite campuses (Cochran and Warner Robins) may sometimes be required.

Required Qualifications

Required Educational Qualifications

A PhD or equivalent in Management or Management-related disciplines from (preferably) an AACSB accredited institution.

Required Experience

A record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor.

Other

Required Qualifications

Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.
