Job Description
Wesleyan College Orientation Leaders (OLs) serve as mentors and community builders for the new student experience. During Summer Orientation and PACK Weekend, OLs help facilitate events and assist with student transition while creating an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for incoming students and their families. This role is an exceptional opportunity for students looking to develop leadership skills, build meaningful connections, and make a lasting impact on the Wesleyan community!
Key Responsibilities:
● Serve as a role model and mentor for new students, promoting a positive college
experience.
● Lead campus tours and facilitate orientation sessions.
● Assist in organizing and executing orientation events and activities.
● Provide information about campus resources, policies, and services.
● Foster connections among new students to enhance their sense of belonging.
● Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other orientation leaders.
● Support logistical tasks such as event setup, check-in, and materials distribution.
● Maintain enthusiasm, professionalism, and a welcoming attitude throughout orientation
events.
Qualifications:
● Must be a current student in good academic standing.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Leadership experience or willingness to develop leadership skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
● Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility.
● Knowledge of campus resources and student life.
● Availability for training sessions and all scheduled orientation events.
Preferred Qualifications
● Previous experience as an Orientation Leader or involvement in Student Organizations.
● Public speaking or event planning experience.
Time Commitment & Compensation:
● Attendance at all mandatory training sessions and orientation events

Aug 4-6
● PACK Weekend:
Aug 7-9
Compensation:
● $400 Stipend
● On Campus Housing
● Early Move-In on 7/12
● Meals provided on all scheduled work days
