Head Boys Basketball Coach

The Jackson County School System is seeking a highly motivated Head Basketball Coach

to guide the East Jackson Basketball program toward sustained competitive success at the region and state level. The coach will be responsible for developing a comprehensive basketball program that emphasizes student‑athlete growth, competitive excellence, and strong community engagement.

• Fulfill a daily teaching role at EJHS with course load determined by school needs and candidate qualifications
• Lead, organize, and manage all components of the East Jackson High School Basketball program
• Plan and oversee GHSA‑authorized summer camps and summer practices
• Work with our Strength and Conditioning coach to ensure continued growth and development of our year‑round strength, speed, and conditioning programs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local recreation leagues and middle school programs to establish a consistent feeder system
• Mentor and support middle school coaches while collaborating effectively with middle school administration
• Lead assistant coaches in alignment with school and system expectations
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture and serve as a role model for student‑athletes
• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, staff, administrators, booster club members, and community stakeholders
• Promote the basketball program in a manner that reflects positively on East Jackson High School and the Jackson County School System

• Teaching salary based on the Georgia State Salary Schedule and local JCSS supplement (Salary Schedules available on the JCSS career webpage)
• Coaching supplement negotiable based on experience and demonstrated success

Teaching contract begins July 23, 2026, coaching duties begin summer 2026

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university
• Eligible for teacher certification in the state of Georgia
• Successful varsity‑level coaching experience as an assistant or head coach (preferred: three or more years).
• Demonstrated commitment to fulfill the expectations outlined above and any other aspects of the position provided by school and district administration
