Job Summary Under general supervision, the instructor provides instruction to students in Phlebotomy courses, including a dual enrollment high school site. The instructor demonstrates appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, and maintains grade books and other required records. He/she uses oral and written communication skills to promote student learning, follows the approved course syllabus, maintains program requirements, attends all required professional development training, meets with students and school‑level personnel to discuss instructional programs and other issues, evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives, and completes all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner while maintaining an accurate inventory of assigned properties.

Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership opportunities for students by establishing a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), such as HOSA, as a co‑curricular instructional tool within the classroom.Be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all assigned students for the school calendar year.Implement curriculum standards using necessary and appropriate instructional methods and materials suited to students’ well‑being and the learning activities.Manage and maintain program facilities and equipment.Develop detailed instructional plans and instruct designated classes according to those plans, modifying as necessary to achieve mastery of learning objectives for all students.Accurately evaluate and record student progress; complete all records and reports on time with accuracy.Establish and implement classroom policies and procedures governing student behavior and conduct; provide guidance, counseling, and discipline to encourage achievement.Attend or participate in all required staffing meetings; perform other student‑focused responsibilities assigned by the principal.Participate in activities to enhance professional skills.Perform other duties needed or assigned by the supervisor.Minimum
Education and Experience Requirements
College diploma/degree in a health‑related field from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency.A current healthcare professional license, registration, or certification issued by an appropriate governing or regulatory body.A minimum of two (2) years of occupational work experience in the healthcare field.Proficiency in and knowledge of healthcare systems.Knowledge of the design and implementation of lesson plans for students.The Superintendent and the Board may consider appropriate alternatives to the above qualifications.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to relate and motivate students concerning learning styles to make learning meaningful, effective, contextual, and involve positive interactions for ongoing intellectual development.Ability to provide remediation appropriate to program standards to impact student learning, progress, and development across varied achievement levels.Ability to use the latest technical technology in educational and career‑related disciplines.Strong classroom management skills.Certification, License, and
Special Requirements - Ability to obtain clearance certificate from GaPSC.
- Meets Georgia state certification requirements in the assigned field of education.
Salary, Terms, and Benefits
- 195‑day work year.
- Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Adopted Salary Schedule and position supplement(s).
