Mercer University's Stetson‑Hatcher School of Business is searching for a Director of Career Development and Employer Engagement. This position could be based on the Macon campus or Atlanta campus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for all career development, employer relations, and experiential learning initiatives within the School of Business.
  • Advance a unified, cross‑campus career development model aligned with the School’s mission to equip students with exceptional education, leadership skills, and relevant real‑world business experiences.
  • Oversee career‑related curriculum integration, employer partnerships, student coaching and programming, outcomes reporting, and staff development across the Macon and Atlanta campuses.
  • Ensure consistency, accountability, and measurable outcomes, guaranteeing high‑quality, equitable career preparation for all students regardless of location or modality.
  • Supervise the Associate Director and provide leadership in employer engagement, curriculum integration, community partnerships, and student outcomes.
  • Oversee embedded career development courses (BUS 202, BUS 302, BUS 305) and strengthen corporate relationships, aligning programming with industry needs.
Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in business management or a related field and four years of related experience (counseling students, student services, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Career Services software, and communication and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, Webex, Google Meet).
  • Demonstrated coaching skills to effectively support and guide students and alumni in their academic and career development.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities with a proven capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high‑quality service to a diverse population of students and alumni, with cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for administrative coordination, reporting, and professional correspondence.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with students, alumni, colleagues, and external stakeholders, including employers.
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills to convey complex information clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • Solid background in advising, counseling, consulting, guidance, or teaching, with the ability to adapt approaches to individual needs and goals.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong, professional relationships across a range of constituencies.
  • Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel for events, conferences, and professional development as required.
  • High level of discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
