Responsibilities

As part of Academic Affairs and reporting to the Academic Affairs Director, the Preclinical Coordinator coordinates and manages all aspects of the preclinical curriculum, ensuring consistency in implementation, testing, evaluation, and communication across all School of Medicine (MUSM) campuses. This position will maintain the academic records and assist in maintaining and annually updating the preclinical curriculum manuals. The position will work closely with Faculty Module Coordinators and Block Chairs to assist students in successfully completing the preclinical curriculum.

The Preclinical Coordinator will be expected to provide support to medical students and coordinate with preclinical coordinators across campuses. The Preclinical Coordinator will support preclinical curricular components, including PBL tutorial program activities, testing and evaluation, and reporting. This position will maintain preclinical academic records, including those related to USMLE performance, and provide administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

Two years of college coursework and two years of administrative support experience are required. In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will be considered.

  • Ability to foster a welcoming, supportive environment and communicate effectively with various faculty, staff, and students.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and successful completion of projects.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment with sensitive student and faculty data.
  • Ability to learn/use Student Records Management (SRM) System and/or Learning Management System (LMS).
