ARC Peer Tutor (Fall 2026 - Summer 2027)
Job Family: Student Regular Wage, Student Work Study
Department: Academic Resource Center
Supervisor: Taneisha Brown
Start Date: 08/18/2026
End Date: 05/31/2027
Pay Rate: $10.00/hour
Schedule: 9 hours per week (specified hours on the weekly schedule)
Responsibilities- Provide individual assistance in a variety of disciplines.
- Work in the Academic Resource Center during specified hours on the weekly schedule.
- Tutor students who drop in during those hours.
- Answer the telephone and perform general office duties.
- Provide academic guidance and model best practices for students; do not complete students' homework or take-home exams.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA and sophomore standing or higher.
- Successfully completed the coursework for one or more designated courses in the selected disciplines.
- Earned a B or higher grade in the corresponding Mercer University course, or if the coursework was completed elsewhere, earned a B or higher in a related upper level Mercer University course.
- Obtained a signed recommendation from the corresponding academic department.
