Position: Graduate Assistant for Campus Life Fraternity and Sorority Programs

Graduate Assistant – Campus Life (Fraternity & Sorority Programs)

This professionally minded individual will work directly with the Office of Campus Life to support Fraternity and Sorority Programs, focusing on advising, program coordination, and student engagement across 17 active chapters.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct new member workshops and manage recruitment for four councils.
  • Coordinate the Fraternity and Sorority Life leadership retreat.
  • Manage all required paperwork, lectures, and trainings for FSP students throughout the year.
  • Advise the four councils and work closely with chapter presidents on a one‑to‑one basis.
  • Assist with major Campus Life events, including Bear Fair, Be a Good Neighbear, Family Weekend, Homecoming, and Bearstock.
  • Assist with budget development, event planning, management, and student advising.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure availability for evening and weekend hours as needed.
Qualifications
  • Currently in the first year of the Higher Education Leadership or Business Administration program on the Macon campus.
  • Previous experience as an undergraduate student in Campus Life.
  • Preferred:
    Leadership positions within a fraternity or sorority chapter on campus.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, self‑motivated, and flexible.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse Mercer constituencies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Benefits and Compensation
  • Tuition waiver for nine credit hours per semester.
  • Bi‑weekly stipend and a salary of $14 per hour.
  • Option to live on campus with a graduate on‑call rotation with the Office of Housing and Residence Life (subject to additional screening).
  • Position length: two years with flexibility during the summer; start in early July 2026.
  • Scheduled hours: 20 per week.
