Elementary
Candidates must be certified in, or eligible for certification in Early Childhood Education (K-5). Bibb County is a Strategic Waiver District. Alternative Certification routes are available to individuals with a degree from an accredited institution.
Essentials Job Functions- Provides instruction at appropriate instructional level for K–2 students.
- Prepares and delivers content aligned with curriculum.
- Develops extension activities and supports transfer of learning.
- Assesses and monitors student progress, encourages engagement, and provides support.
- Manages the learning environment, uses time efficiently, and maintains classroom behavior.
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in both in‑person and virtual settings.
- Utilizes technology and software applications for instruction and administration.
- Participates in professional learning, including virtual teaching endorsement.
- Prepares lesson plans, maintains accurate records, and submits reports promptly.
- Follows district and school policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Models professional practices and maintains confidentiality of student records.
- Assumes responsibilities for safety, file handling, and supervising students in out‑of‑class settings.
- Performs additional duties as required based on specific content area taught.
- Plans and coordinates assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteers, providing input to administrative staff.
- Executes duties requested by the District, the school, or student need.
Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of student growth and development.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents related to safety, technology, and educational procedures.
- Ability to prepare and communicate effectively through written reports, lesson plans, and correspondence.
- Skill in computing and interpreting data, including rate, ratio, and percent calculations.
- Proficiency in PC operations and software applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets).
- Capability to serve as a liaison with various professionals and collaborate with parents and guardians.
- Adapt instructional strategies and provide accommodations to meet individual student needs.
- Strong physical capability to manage classroom and student needs, including potential crisis intervention situations.
Special Requirements
- Ability to obtain clearance certificate from GaPSC.
- 190-day work year.
- Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Adopted Salary Schedule and position supplement(s).
