Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in Health Core and Nurse Aide courses, including a dual enrollment high school site. Demonstrates effective teaching techniques, appropriate testing and grading procedures, and maintains accurate records, including grade books and required documentation. Utilizes strong oral and written communication skills and current industry practices to support student learning.

Follows the approved course syllabus, maintains program requirements, and participates in all required professional development, including summer training expectations. Collaborates with students, school personnel, and partners to support instructional programs and student success. Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives and completes all reports, records, and inventory requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

This role supports student attainment of industry credentials and readiness for postsecondary education and careers in healthcare.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides leadership opportunities for students by establishing and supporting a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), such as HOSA, as a co-curricular instructional component;
  • Maintains consistent presence, organization, and commitment to the success of all assigned students;
  • Implements curriculum standards using appropriate instructional methods and materials aligned to program goals and student needs;
  • Manages and maintains program facilities, equipment, and instructional resources;
  • Develops and delivers instructional plans aligned to course standards and adapts instruction to ensure mastery of learning objectives;
  • Accurately evaluates and records student progress and completes all required reports and documentation in a timely manner;
  • Establishes and enforces classroom policies and procedures that support a positive learning environment and student achievement;
  • Participates in required meetings and collaborates with school leadership and staff to support student success;
  • Engages in ongoing professional learning, including required summer training and program-specific development;
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Minimum

    Education and Experience Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Must upload transcripts/certifications which show conferred educational degrees/current certifications and document qualifications in the employment history

    • Earned College Diploma in health-related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
    • Documented current Georgia LPN or RN license
    • Documented current BLS card
    • Documented one (1) year paid full-time, in-field work experience in patient care
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Earned associate degree or higher in health-related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
    • Documented clinical experience in a long-term care setting.
    • Documented teaching experience in secondary, postsecondary education, or training experience.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to relate to and motivate all students by addressing diverse learning styles to create meaningful, effective, and engaging learning experiences;
  • Ability to provide remediation aligned to program standards to support student growth across varying achievement levels;
  • Ability to utilize current instructional technology and healthcare-related systems;
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Certificate and License Requirements

    Candidates must be certified in, or eligible for certification in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

    Salary, Terms, and Benefits
    • 195 day work year.
