ARC Peer Tutor; Summer

ARC Peer Tutor (Summer 2026)

Students provide individual assistance in a variety of disciplines. They work in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) during specified hours on the weekly schedule and tutor students who drop in during those hours. Other duties include helping out with answering the telephone and various general office duties. The primary responsibility of tutors is to provide academic guidance and modeling for students who come for appointments;

tutors do not complete homework assignments or take-home exams.

• Provide individual assistance in designated courses across selected disciplines.
• Answer telephone calls and perform general office duties as needed.
• Provide academic guidance and modeling for students during appointments.

• At least a 3.0 GPA and sophomore standing or higher.
• Must have successfully completed the coursework for one or more designated courses; earned a B or higher grade in the Mercer University course or, where the coursework was performed elsewhere, earned a B or higher grade in a related upper‑level Mercer University course.
• Obtained a signed recommendation from the corresponding academic department.

Required documents include a valid U.S. Passport, certificate of U.S. citizenship, or alien registration card with photograph. Two of the following may also be provided: a state driver's license, validated student , original social security card, or birth certificate.
