Admissions Counselor

Admissions Counselor is responsible for meeting or exceeding the freshman recruitment goal for an assigned geographical territory. The incumbent will articulate the mission and values of the university to prospective students, families, and guidance counselors by autonomously crafting messages based on the specific audience.

The Admissions Counselor represents the University at numerous events such as college fairs, high school visits, alumni receptions, and on-campus events, meeting and exceeding the needs of all constituents.

The Admissions Counselor will manage the recruitment territory from initial inquiry through enrollment, including informational sessions, reviewing applications for admissions and scholarships, reviewing financial aid packages, and counseling students throughout the entire life cycle from application to enrollment.

Responsibilities

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for meeting or exceeding the freshman recruitment goal for an assigned geographical territory and for communicating the mission and values of the university to prospective students, families, guidance counselors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, phone, and face‑to‑face interactions, are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain an accurate prospect database.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability by the University carrier, as the position requires travel.
  • Willingness to work some nights and weekends as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products to maintain accurate prospect management.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and presentations to prospective students and their families.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, phone, and face‑to‑face interactions are vital.
  • Ability to meet and exceed set goals.
