** Come join Mercer University’s Academic Advising team in the Stetson-Hatcher School of Business! You will work directly with the Business Schools singular advisor, as well as help assist in the school as needed. You will learn important skills to help you grow personally and professionally.
** Position
Description:
** The graduate assistant will assist the director of academic advising services with undergraduate students by advising, organizing files, setting up appointments, and assisting the director in any other way. Also, you will utilize Anthology to keep academic check sheets up to date. In addition, this role requires you to be a resource to any faculty, staff, non-business students, and graduate assistants requesting help.
The ability to build relationships and manage time well will be key for success in this role. Also, knowledge of the business course requirements and catalog or the desire to learn them will be valuable to advising abilities.
** Responsibilities:
*** Schedule appointments for student to meet with the academic advisor
* Organize and create student files
* Advise students on classes
* Use Anthology to help the Academic Advisor
* Create spreadsheets for information gathering
* Create graphics for academic advisor
* Assist academic advisor with 202 and 302 classes
* Make copies of important documents
* Assist Peer Advisors and instructors with UNV 101
* Assist with summer orientation
* Provide aid for any technical difficulties academic advisor or other office staff may have
** Requirements:
*** Admitted or pursuing a full-time Business master's degree Program at Mercer for at least one calendar year.
* Enjoys working independently
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to organize and problem solve
* Demonstrate attention to details
* Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
