Associate Director, Center for Career and Professional Development
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Associate Director supports the mission of the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) by providing individualized career consulting/coaching and cultivating partnerships with faculty, academic units, and campus stakeholders to embed career development throughout the curriculum and co‑curricular experience.
Responsibilities- Deliver career consultation to students and alumni via individual and group sessions focused on exploration, decision‑making, and securing internships or jobs, while promoting experiential learning and career readiness resources.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and departments across the university to advance students’ career readiness through strategic outreach, training, and engagement.
- Promote a campus‑wide career‑focused culture by delivering presentations on integrating career content into curricular and co‑curricular experiences.
- Serve as a liaison for visiting employers, coordinating recruitment visits, and assisting with career expo employer engagement.
- Develop targeted outreach and communications to engage employers in campus recruitment and career center partnerships.
- Manage and report student engagement data for supplemental career platforms, career education learning outcomes, campus community collaboration, and student appointment satisfaction.
- Leverage data and assessment results in strategic planning for the Center, including the essential role of the campus community in students’ career readiness and success.
- Master’s degree in higher education, business, HR, interdisciplinary field, or a related area of study from an accredited university/college.
- 3 years of relevant experience working directly with and supporting university students.
- Certification, micro‑credential, or substantial training related to coaching, counseling, career development, or readiness is preferred.
- Knowledge of the career development needs and dynamics of university‑level learners and familiarity with career or student advising competencies, models, professional associations, and ethics is preferred.
- Strong advising, counseling, consulting, guidance, and/or teaching abilities.
- Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships.
- Knowledge of traditional undergraduate student development, career development and exploration, decision‑making, job search strategies, and/or student success factors.
- Advanced presentation and communication skills for effectively engaging audiences of 5–75, in person or via teleconference.
