Job Title

Faculty, Biomedical Sciences – Microbiology / Immunology

Location

Macon, GA 31207; additional potential locations may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Teach an integrated pre‑clerkship medical school curriculum, including case‑based and team‑based learning.
  • Develop and implement large‑group interactive learning sessions and assessment items.
  • Participate in curriculum development across medical and graduate programs.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, community‑oriented research, and service to the department and school.
  • Serve on departmental, school‑wide, or other committees as designated.
  • Perform additional duties during the summer as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Terminal degree (M.D. or Ph.D.) in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Strong record of scholarly activity and evidence of medical or graduate teaching expertise in Microbiology and/or Immunology.
  • Experience with health professions education and active learning methods.
  • Experience independently developing learning resources, facilitating large‑group interactive sessions, and creating assessment items.
  • Experience facilitating small‑group interdisciplinary case‑based learning in a pre‑clerkship medical curriculum.
  • Associate or Full Professor candidates: strong record of large‑ and small‑group teaching in a medical school setting.
  • Expected to engage broadly in both medical and graduate curricula, scholarship, and committee service.
