Job Summary
This position plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students and creates an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure achievement and performance for every child.

- Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues.
- Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents.
- Is available for conferences according to district policies.
- Facilitates home–school communication by holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications.
- Maintains confidentiality of student records.
- Works cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
- Complies with school, district, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
- Conducts assigned classes at scheduled times.
- Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
- Is punctual.
- Provides adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teachers.
- Maintains accurate, complete and appropriate records and files reports promptly.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy.
- Complies with conditions stated in the contract of employment.

- Performs other duties as required based on the specific content area taught (e.g., contests, after‑hours activities).
- Plans and coordinates assignments for paraprofessionals, other supporting staff, and volunteers, and provides input to administrative staff on performance.
- Ensures that all duties associated with DECAL are performed.
- Performs other duties as required by the District, the school, or student need.
Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of student growth and development.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents related to safety, technology, and educational procedures.
- Ability to prepare and communicate effectively through written reports, lesson plans, and correspondence.
- Skill in computing and interpreting data, including rate, ratio, and percent calculations.
- Proficiency in PC operations and software applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Capability to serve as a liaison with various professionals and effectively collaborate with parents and guardians.
