Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Continuing Education Instructor in the Business and Industry areas will be responsible for non-credit instruction and evaluating students’ progress in obtaining goals and objectives. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.

Position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes and will require travel within the college’s service area and clinical sites and additional travel as needed.

Major responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:§ Provides instruction to students in the classroom and/or lab settings,§ Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.§ Evaluates students’ ongoing progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives.§ Requests and maintains supplies and equipment;§ Prepares required budget requests;§ Maintains program certification requirements;§ Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports;§

Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending in-service training, workshops, seminars and conferences and by reading professional literature in the related technical field;§ Maintains a secure classroom environment;§ Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area(s);§ Completes all assigned trainings in a timely manner;§ Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must upload transcripts/licensures which show conferred educational degrees and document qualifications in the employment history:

Earned Associate degree from an institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education Documented three (3) years of experience in a business environment

Note:

Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, provide transcripts of conferred degrees and demonstrate in the employment history possession of one or more of the following:

Documented teaching experience at the post-secondary level

Documented experience developing training curricula and/or conducting business and industry-related training

Documented experience working in aerospace, defense, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing

Location:

This position generally works normal day hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Additional hours or a flexible schedule to include evenings may be required as needed.
