Family and Children's Pastor

The Family and Children’s Pastor will help us live into our mission by providing a safe, loving, Spirit-led, and transformational ministry for families and children, birth through 4th grade. The Family and Children’s Pastor is committed to the discipleship of the youngest members of Mosaic Church and desires for every child who walks into Mosaic to rest in the fact that they are known and loved and desired, both by the children’s ministry team and the Lord Jesus.

So a great candidate will have a healthy and consistent relationship with Jesus and a passion for helping children become whole through Jesus. This position is 40-45 hours per week.

Qualifications:
Lead weekly children’s discipleship programs, including Sunday morning worship and Wednesday night programing, VBS, and fellowship activities based on solid Wesleyan teaching and small group discipleship. These gatherings will include worship and prayer, and will be Biblically rooted. Develop, implement, and maintain a full, year-round discipleship and pastoral care program. Ensure age-appropriate and biblically sound teaching that engages children and helps them grow in their relationship with Christ.

Coordinate and oversee the development and growth of a special needs ministry within the children’s and families ministries, providing support and care for families with children with special needs. Lead mission opportunities that teach children how to actively, joyfully engage in healthy acts of love and kindness beyond Mosaic church. Work with local schools to support students and provide access to the gospel.

Develop and work closely with a steering team that helps implement the vision of family and children’s ministries. Oversee and equip all paid children’s ministry staff, including paid nursery workers and childcare staff. Oversee and equip volunteers serving in nursery, preschool, and elementary rooms. Recruit, equip, and train adult leaders to work with families with preschool and elementary children to grow healthy, committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Manage the budget and resources for children and family ministries. Oversee the development and distribution of communication materials for Kid City families, volunteers, and the church body. Ensure clear and consistent communication with parents and families regarding upcoming events, curriculum updates, and ministry opportunities.
