The Senior Estimator is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work as assigned. The Sr. Estimator prepare the estimating of different projects. The Sr. Estimator trains, mentors and prepares Jr. Estimators and Estimators.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Read contract for fee enhancements
- Review project manual up-fronts for gotchas
- Assist in receiving and evaluating bids prior to and on bid day
- Work as lead estimator when assigned
- Solicit participation from subcontractors
- Posts addenda & other bid info to subcontractors
- Review bid requirements
- Set-up and maintain Building Connected
- Thorough understanding for assigned scopes (specs and drawings)
- Develops RFI’s for CSP’s and clarification for CM@R
- Develop new subcontractor relationships
- Perform VE when required
- Bid turnovers, dumps and buyout logs
- Work with Ops for CM@R conceptual estimates and constructability
- Constructability reviews
- C&A
- Work with PSPL on Bid Packages
- Work with Chief Estimator for self-perform bids
- Responsible for training junior staff
- Full knowledge of project
- CM@R – solicit interest from the right subcontractors for the project
- Good working relationship with Ops in reviewing projects

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift, up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel as needed.
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of estimating experience for large projects.
- Knowledge of estimating software, engineering principles and construction principles.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and can work well within a deadline-driven environment.
- Initiates action by being proactive with a high drive to set and meet personal goals.
- Performs with a strong quality orientation.
- Able to build partnerships across and outside of the organization by collaborating and building trust.
- Perform functions efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision and able to make decisions independently.
- Must respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Must be able to perform in a fast paced, changing environment by exhibiting adaptability.
- Goes above and beyond.
