For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000-$144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States and is determined based on role, experience and education. Job SummarySchneider Electric Consulting Services (Consulting) is seeking a qualified Power System Engineer. The engineer will lead and execute power system engineering studies for clients nationwide.
What you will doYou will learn and grow your abilities in power system studies, including short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, voltage drop, and harmonics. You will also develop skills in digital relay protection, control, equipment assessments, and power quality assessments.
Engineers work with project management to ensure that deliverables meet specifications, customer needs and are completed within project timelines and budgets. Most projects are office‑based, but some include onsite data collection that requires travel and adherence to safety policies.
You will develop relationships with key customers and become their trusted advisor to facilitate partnerships and drive incremental business.
Typical Responsibilities- Execute projects or lead project execution
- Develop and maintain technical and commercial proficiency of Consulting offers
- Maintain relationships with key customers (internal and external)
Estimated average travel: 25%
Qualifications- BSEE (or equivalent)
- Five years of experience in power systems
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to quickly establish trust with clients in a consulting role
- Willingness to collaborate to ensure team success
- EIT/FE (PE a plus)
- Power system analysis including short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash
- Proficiency in modeling electrical systems in software such as ETAP, SKM, Easypower
- Report writing
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code LV cable and transformer protection
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering documents, codes, standards, and technical procedures
- Safety conscious
- Situational awareness, social intelligence, listening, problem solving
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Ability to assist others in understanding project objectives and specifications and consider multiple viewpoints
- Calm and composed under pressure in dynamic environments
