Overview
Arclin USA is looking to fill a Product Development Chemist II position in Macon, GA. The role reports to the R&T Director and is responsible for designing and executing new product development tasks related to innovative chemistry-based products (resins) and solutions supporting Arclin’s product development strategy.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute projects to develop quality resin products and optimize existing product production for Arclin customers, including conducting lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing, and production troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support to the application group, production, and sales in compliance with ISO standards, and participate in product design and customer meetings as required.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of work results and activities; support the HSE group on product MSDS and the Supply Chain group for raw material sourcing.
- Maintain a clean and safe lab environment in compliance with Arclin HSE policies and procedures, ensuring all lab equipment is maintained and operating optimally.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (BSc) or equivalent;
Master’s or better in Chemistry preferred. - 3–5 years of experience in an industrial chemical laboratory environment (MS degree substitutes for two years of experience).
- Knowledge of the chemistry of formaldehyde‑based phenolic and amino resins is an asset.
- Basic understanding of engineering processes used in resin production.
- Knowledge of experimental design, laboratory equipment, and project planning skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy; ability to document and write technical reports.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer software (MS Office, etc.).
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree or better in Chemistry or related field. - Preferred:
Master’s degree or better in Chemistry or related field.
- Required:
3–5 years in an industrial chemical laboratory (or equivalent).
