Position Overview

Full‑time Environmental Safety Manager, Department 12002 Navicent Non Enterprise Corporate – Environmental Compliance & Safety. Full-time, 40 hrs per week, scheduled FT/Various.

• Collaborate with leadership across the continuum to direct the development, planning and implementation of environmental safety programs, policies and procedures related to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Assist with development and implementation of environmental safety strategies and action plans that ensure organizational sustainability.
• Coordinate aspects of sustainability: pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy as it pertains to environmental compliance.
• Perform auditing, analysis and reporting of environmental safety performance for Advocate Health facilities to Senior Leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct impact assessments to identify and reduce the organization’s risks and financial costs.
• Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental safety issues, whether legislative or best practice.
• Assist with training of Atrium Health staff at all levels in environmental safety issues and responsibilities.
• Responsible for environmental safety reporting.
• Assist with identifying and developing environmental safety metrics that will indicate the effectiveness of the program.
• Direct/consult with Advocate Facilities regarding Environmental Safety.

Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance or related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a related safety field. Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory agencies (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and application of relevant code requirements.

Intermediate to advanced computer skills; proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.

Requires travel; exposure to weather and road conditions. Ability to operate necessary equipment and carry up to 25 pounds. Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, chemicals, dust, fumes and other atmospheric conditions.

• Base compensation within the pay range of $35.50 - $53.25 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
