Mechanical Engineer - Powertrain Systems

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical resource for vehicle mechanical subsystems such as electric motors, engines, transmissions, CVTs, and transaxles.
  • Develop and maintain component and system specifications, requirements, and qualification plans.
  • Lead engineering activities related to DFMEA, DVP&R, risk analysis, testing, and validation.
  • Support product development from concept through production launch.
  • Drive engineering change management and documentation processes.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to ensure project success.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for design and customer issues.
  • Develop and execute validation plans to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Mentor engineers, designers, and technicians on engineering best practices.
  • Support compliance with industry regulations and engineering standards.
  • Report project status, risks, and milestones to leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience with product design, validation, and release processes.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change management, and risk analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electric vehicle or powertrain systems.
  • Experience with electric motors, engines, transmissions, CVTs, or transaxles.
  • Knowledge of automotive product development processes.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and customers.
