Job Summary

Commercial F&PA supports the company's Commercial organization by providing financial performance reporting, forecasting, planning, and value‑based analysis across commodities (Crude, Gas, LNG, Power). The role partners closely with Commercial front office, risk and accounting to translate trading and marketing activity into clear, decision‑useful financial insights.

The Commercial F&PA Analyst has responsibility for supporting business and finance leadership through forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and performance reporting.

Position Overview

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Analyze Commercial financial performance, including realized price, margins, transport costs, and value uplift initiatives across commodities
  • Support the Commercial transformation initiatives as required
  • Support GAAP, risk, and management performance views and reconcile differences between them
  • Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc performance reporting for leadership, including commentary on drivers and variances
  • Support Commercial planning activities by preparing outlooks and long‑range plans
  • Work across multiple systems and data sources, including ETRM (TriplePoint, Right Angle), SAP, COMRC, CRC, Excel and Power BI
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and simplify manual processes; partner with systems and data teams on improvements (e.g., Snowflake, Power BI)
  • Partner closely with Commercial teams (front office and back office), Risk, Accounting, and Controllers to ensure consistent understanding of financial results
Basic/Required
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, other related business field, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent
  • 5 or more years of experience in an accounting or finance function
Preferred
  • 3 or more years of energy industry experience
  • Experience partnering closely with Finance Systems, Data, and IT teams to design and implement scalable process improvements
  • Experience working with SAP, Right Angle and/or TriplePoint CXL trading systems (or other trading systems)
  • Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude to challenge existing process' while identifying and leading the implementation of improvements
  • Understanding of commodities, margin drivers, and commercial value levers (pricing, transport, differentials)
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and seek advice where appropriate to achieve results which reflect current business activities and meet deadlines for both internal and external needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively in an inclusive manner with others regardless of their level, culture or role in the organization
  • Strong organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
