Financial Manager

Middle Georgia Regional Library (MGRL) is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to lead our Finance Department. As an essential member of our Administrative Team, you will maintain traditional duties to serve as a key strategic partner. The Finance Officer serves as a key strategic leader to the Director, overseeing the daily operations and long-term staff financial needs of the library system. The role oversees library system financial reports and budget documents, full-cycle payroll, prepares and analyzes reports for use of library boards, and full accounting of library funds and all accounting practices. The Finance Officer ensures organizational compliance through meticulous records retention.
RequiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting practices, financial planning and record keeping, public finance, procurement procedures, budget development and administration.
- Must be proficient in Google Suite Office Programs.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidential and private information.
- Must have the ability to use tact and diplomacy in working with staff, vendors and the public.
- Must have attention to detail, accuracy with numbers and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to increase knowledge and the skills through continuing education and staff development training.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.
A.) in business related field from four-year college or university; and four to five years related accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fund Based accounting background with (3) or more years of accounting and budgeting experience as well as supervisory experience is perferred.
- The salary for this position starts at $58,725 annually. Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
