As an Environmental Health Specialist at the Macon-Bibb County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, a great schedule, and a healthy work-life balance, allowing you to grow your career while maintaining time for what matters most to you.

Under direct supervision of the County Environmental Health Manager, Environmental Health Specialist will provide inspection/permitting/consultation for compliance of state rules and regulations for the Macon-Bibb County Environmental Health Program for the following facilities within the county:
Food Service, Public Swimming Pools, Tourist Accommodations, and Body Art. In addition, the person hired for this position will provide services within Wastewater Management, Well Water, Emergency Preparedness, and other environmental health programs as well as investigate all assigned health-related complaints received.

• Interprets regulatory issues, technical issues, and analytical data to document compliance
• Investigate complaints, provide environmental education and technical assistance
