Job Description Summary
The Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 at GE Healthcare is responsible for performing basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical equipment and systems, ensuring their proper functionality and compliance with safety standards within a healthcare environment.
This position will have service at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah GA.

Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities:
- Execute routine preventive maintenance on a variety of biomedical equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Perform basic diagnostic testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Repair and replace faulty components, modules, and parts in biomedical devices under supervision.
- Conduct electrical safety inspections and performance verification tests on medical equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Mentor and lead other B-Met 1's with more complex repairs and installations.
- Adhere to all GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc. and healthcare facility safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding equipment status and repair timelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technology advancements.
- Manage and organize tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory.
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent military training.
- 4-8 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Basic understanding of electronics, electrical safety, and biomedical equipment principles.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license may be required for travel to various client sites.
