We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer / Network Engineer / IT Support Engineer for onsite dispatch-based support in Atlanta, GA. The role involves hands‑on deployment and support of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC 9800) across client sites.
This is an ideal opportunity for professionals experienced in network installations, structured cabling, and field services looking for flexible, on‑demand assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Perform rack & stack installations and structured cabling
- Install Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (2 per site)
- Execute fiber optic connectivity, SFP installation, and patching (fiber & Ethernet)
- Handle power/network cross‑connections and validate switch ports
- Stage hardware prior to cutover activities
- Support remote network teams during cutover and validate installations
- Troubleshoot connectivity and physical layer issues onsite
- Decommission legacy WLC devices and manage packing & return logistics
Dispatch / On‑demand assignments (ticket‑based)
Typically 1 site per day (small to medium sites)
Weekend work required for larger deployments
Required Skills- Hands‑on experience in network deployment & field support
- Strong knowledge of Cisco WLC (9800 series preferred)
- Expertise in fiber optics, SFP modules, and structured cabling
- Experience with rack & stack and switch port validation
- Understanding of LAN/WAN networking fundamentals
- Ability to work independently in onsite environments
- Must Have: Rack mounting tools
- Reimbursable: SFP modules, Fiber patch cords, Ethernet patch cables
- Experience in onsite IT deployments, datacenter support, or network rollouts
- Comfortable with dispatch‑based, flexible work model
