Senior System Administrator

This role is remote, but we are only able to consider candidates who reside in the state of Georgia.

We are partnering with an enterprise healthcare client, seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with deep, hands-on expertise across Microsoft Azure,
Microsoft 365
, VMware virtualization
, and enterprise networking
.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting a hybrid infrastructure environment, with a strong focus on Azure IaaS. The successful candidate will act as a senior technical lead, owning complex systems, driving best practices, and supporting business-critical infrastructure.

• Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure
  , including:
• Virtual Machines (provisioning, scaling, patching, optimization)
• Storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
• Monitoring and performance tuning (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
• Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services
  , including:
• Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams
• Intune / Endpoint Manager and device compliance
• Identity, security, and access policies (MFA, Conditional Access)
• Manage and maintain VMware environments
  , including:
• vSphere / ESXi host administration
• VM provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning
• High availability (HA), clustering, and disaster recovery
• LAN/WAN design and troubleshooting
• Firewalls, VPNs, routing, and switching
• Network performance, segmentation, and security
• Support and maintain hybrid infrastructure
  , integrating on-premises systems with Azure.
• Act as the escalation point for complex infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, and networking issues.
• Contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives
  .
• Implement and enforce security, compliance, and governance across all platforms.
• Automate administrative tasks using Power Shell, Azure CLI, or Infrastructure as Code
  .
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (essential), including:
• VM lifecycle management and Azure IaaS
• Solid experience with VMware (vSphere/ESXi)
• Strong networking expertise
  , including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and hybrid identity
  .
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-platform infrastructure issues
  .
• Experience working in environments requiring high availability, resilience, and security.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• VMware certifications (VCP or equivalent)
• Networking certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP)
