Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the processing of incoming and outgoing mail and other packages.
Responsibilities- Mailroom Duties (75%):
Picks up, sorts, processes and routes incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and freight for campus delivery. - Operate postage meter, add postage, process large quantity envelopes for departments, coordinate repairs with vendor.
- Prepare outgoing UPS, Fed Ex, or other freight for pickup.
- Respond to complaints and inquiries regarding lost mail; complete related forms; make referrals for investigation.
- Locate proper addresses and make corrections for misdirected mail.
- Vehicle Service (25%):
Clean, fuel and prepare fleet vehicles or golf carts for use by faculty and staff. - Assist Campus Facilities Manager with odometer, fuel card and gathering information for reports to BOR.
- Operate fleet vehicles and golf carts on and off campus.
- Must be a currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University.
- Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, computers and job related software programs.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, campus buildings, departments, and offices.
- Skill in the operation of a golf cart.
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
- Skill in the safe and efficient operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
