- Decatur, GA (FSC) Job Requisition Number of Openings: 1 Shift: Any (United States of America) Compensation Details: $68,536.37
JOB SUMMARY Statewide oversight of the custody and security of detained youth for movement and transport purposes. Provides oversight for the operations of the Transportation unit to ensure all agency policies and procedures are followed, and that movement of all youth is completed in safe and humane way. Ensure all staff complete all the training required to maintain POST certification. Maintains oversight over Transportation Fleet vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIESAND DUTIES
- Assigns and monitors work schedules for all Transportation staff to ensure optimum coverage.
- Ensures daily Assignments are completed
- Ensure that monthly reports are completed and submitted as requested
- Coordinates Interstate Compact transport
- Monitors budget for Transportation Unit and works with Administrative Assistant to update on unit needs.
- Monitors compliance with units annual training requirements and review of all policies.
- Monitors statewide fleet of Transportation vehicles
- Encourages the safe, secure and compassionate transportation of youth.
- Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Gathers, compiles, analyzes and reports on statewide operational data and statistics for the Transportation Unit.
- Interviews, hires, trains and new staff.
- Monitors performances of Lieutenants and part-time staff to ensure conformity will agency policy and procedures.

- Able to work as a leader, coordinator, and effective team member.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to facilitate effective collaborative team meetings.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to exercise initiative and make independent decisions to ensure policy deadlines are met.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
High school diploma/GED, Georgia P.O.S.T. certification, and two (2) years of experience required at a level equivalent to a supervisory law enforcement position; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Correctional Unit Manager (PSM
061) or position equivalent.
- Background with security and secure facilities.
- Ability to clearly communicate work assignments and expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
