Senior Project Manager; Commissioning

MXI Partners are working with one of the most established Engineering and Commissioning firms providing services to data center owners and general contractors nationwide.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Commissioning to lead L1-5 Cx activities across some of their most exciting projects.

What you'll do:

• Lead commissioning activities from pre-construction through final system validation.
• Manage functional testing, integrated systems testing, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate project schedules, resources, deliverables, and priorities.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within approved budgets.
• Identify project risks and implement corrective actions before they affect delivery.
• Work closely with field personnel and engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical activities and ensure commissioning requirements are properly incorporated into project execution.
• Monitor project financial performance, utilization, forecasting, and profitability.
• Support budgeting and resource planning activities.
• Review project billing and invoicing requirements.
• Track changes, scope, and commercial risks.
• Contribute to financial reporting and performance reviews.
• Lead, mentor, and develop commissioning professionals and project personnel.
• Assist with recruiting, staffing, onboarding, and resource planning.
• Establish clear expectations for accountability, quality, communication, and execution.
• Help develop scalable processes and consistent project-delivery practices.
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Develop strong professional relationships and maintain effective communication throughout project delivery.
• Help identify opportunities for additional work and repeat engagements.

What you bring:

• 10+ years of progressive experience across commissioning, engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in leading end to end commissioning scopes across data center projects
• Demonstrated experience in managing the complete L1-L5 commissioning process, with a Strong understanding of MEP systems and their interdependencies.
• Practical knowledge of commissioning methodologies and functional testing.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
