The Technical Engineer position includes, but is not limited to the following duties:
Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in the industrial plant assigned.

• Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow and designed layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Confer s with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
• Provide technical training and support to mechanics.
• Through established PM programs, works to reduce process costs by improving machine efficiencies.
• Orders and maintains proper machine parts inventories; ensures needed machine parts and supplies are on hand.
• Advises department’s management staff when machine parts are to be ordered.
• Performs any other duties assigned by management.

Directly supervises 3 to 5 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
