Compensation

• Competitive starting pay range of $22.03-$28.15 per hour, paid weekly

Available Shift

• Rotating 12-Hours
• Rotates every eight weeks

Responsible for performing the job duties at the Hot Press, Floatline, Printer, and Wrapper to produce molded fiber egg cartons to customer specifications. Maintains excellent safety and housekeeping standards and verifies quality at each assigned workstation.

Hot Press Operator

• Follows all documented safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the mechanical hot press to achieve production goals.
• Restores flow if the hot press stops or encounters issues.
• Troubleshoot and communicate mechanical issues to the Hot Press Mechanic and management.
• Identifies and removes defective cartons by observing the decline conveyor leading to the Hot Press and the outfeed.
• Responsible for immediately responding to and addressing alarms concerning carton jams.
• As needed, assist in hand-feeding cartons into the line to increase productivity and decrease scrap.
• Demonstrates proper use of tools (e.g., dowel rods, picks).
• Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
• If a printer stops, assist with carton pickup at the outfeed.
• Maintain workstation until relieved.
• During line start-up and downtime, assist with clean-up of the oven area.
• Address and report safety issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an excellent safety and attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Printer Operator

• Follows all safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Verify against a visual representation of the final product to ensure cartons are made to order.
• Ensure accuracy of bundle tags and placement.
• Communicate any quality defects to the Printer Mechanic and management.
• Assist in wiping down plates and picking up cartons on the line during downtimes.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards for a safe work area.
• Wrap completed bundles; verify order paperwork and sign plate change forms.
• Maintain workstation until relieved.
• During line start-up and downtime, assist with clean-up of the oven area.
• Address and report safety issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an excellent safety and attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Oven Attendant

• Follow all documented procedures for the position.
• Empty oven run-out stackers and collect scrap in appropriate bins.
• Respond to oven jams immediately and check product alignment as it comes from the oven onto the conveyor.
• Help reduce production scrap levels and assist with emptying scrap bins from the Hot Press.
• Maintain effective communication with the Hot Press Mechanic and notify the Natural Team Leader or Production Supervisor of issues.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and a safe work area.
• Address and report safety issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an excellent safety and attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment, including successful completion of jobs or similar activities requiring control of a mechanical process and inspection of product to meet quality standards.
• Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.

An individual must have the following skills for the Dry End Operator position:

• Ability to work safely and to communicate with others in a professional manner.
• Demonstrated ability to determine product quality, including carton malformations, color verification, and structural integrity.
• Demonstrated hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for product handling.
• Ability to work well on a team.
• Physical requirements:
  
  standing for lengthy periods, sitting for extended periods, climbing stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional).
• Ability to work in conditions with hot and cold weather, dust, noise, odors, and moving equipment (frequent).
• Must be able to perform essential job duties and work a rotating 12-hour schedule.
• Works overtime as required.
