Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Electro-mechanical Technician job at Pactiv Evergreen - North America. Macon, GA.
Job PurposeThe Electro Mechanic role is responsible for maintaining and responding to trouble calls for repairs on manufacturing equipment; including electrical and mechanical systems.
Duties and responsibilitiesThe primary job duties and responsibilities are:
- Repair, modify and maintain manufacturing equipment to insure products are in specification.
- Fabricates parts not commercially available,
- Troubleshoots electric controls, motor control centers and programmable logic controls.
- Communicates on all project needs with Maintenance & Production Supervisors/Managers.
- Assist (as required) in the training & skill up grading of other maintenance and production personnel
- Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
- Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
- Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
- Maintains excellent safety record.
- Maintains excellent attendance record.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience required:
- Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment; including successful completion of jobs or similar activities.
- At least three (3) years of experience in mechanics.
- At least three (3) years of experience in controls.
- Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
Maintenance Connection experience preferred.
An individual must have the following skills in the Electro Mechanic position:
- Interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer knowledge.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
- PLC ladder diagram reading.
- Full understanding of all levels of wiring diagrams.
This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include but are not limited to:
- Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
- Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
- Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
- Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)
An individual that works in the Electro Mechanic position:
- Proficient to expert electrical and controls knowledge;
Allen Bradley experience preferred. - Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and work in a hot/cold environment.
- Must have a proficient knowledge of hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
- Must have personal tools up to one (1) inch.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical school certificate or diploma in a specific work-related area, such as electronics technology, electro-mechanical engineering technology, etc., preferred
