CompensationThe base hourly rate for this position is $20.80 per hour.
Job descriptionThe Production Operator is responsible for communicating and supporting JM core values and delivering the JM experience. This Operator position is part of the Pay for Skills program and is part of skills progression. The employee may be placed in any of the following positions:
Mixer, Winder, Vat, Mid Operator, or Palletizer.
- 8 to 12 hour shifts
- Mon‑Fri, some Saturdays
- Days – 6:45 am – 3:00 pm
- Evenings – 2:45 pm – 11:00 pm
- Nights – 10:45 pm – 7:00 am
- Must be available to work any shift and rotate if necessary
- Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies
- Relieve other employees as directed
- Maintain communication to ensure quality product is being made
- Maintain daily housekeeping requirements
- Follow JSA/SOPs
- Wear proper clothing and PPE as required
- Complete all training and meetings
- Understand and use all appropriate checks and checklists
- Complete production reporting
- Other duties may vary depending on the position assignment; check with your supervisor for more details.
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, work instruction, finished product specifications
- General math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages)
- Beginner to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Solid communication skills (written/verbal)
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes in awkward positions
- Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to safely and effectively work in a dust‑rich environment with a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold)
- Ability to withstand the rigors of working an 8‑ or 12‑hour rotating shift schedule
- Ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively
- Ability to reach or work above shoulder height
