Job Description

Printer Mechanic| Macon, Georgia|
Hiring Immediately

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly range: $28.16-$34.27 per hour

Available Shift:

  • 1st and 2nd Shift
  • Rotating every eight weeks
  • 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
  • 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
  • 2/2/3 schedule

Position Overview:

The Printer Mechanic role is responsible for maintaining production equipment in the printer area and responding to trouble calls as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows all documented safety, quality, and maintenance procedures.
  • Performs printer general maintenance.
  • Utilizes quarterbacking to facilitate changeovers.
  • Supports production in all areas to troubleshoot and address problems.
  • Maintains spare parts inventory.
  • Documents daily maintenance activity.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
  • Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
  • Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
  • Maintains excellent safety record.
  • Maintains an excellent attendance record.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including successful completion of jobs or similar activities.
  • Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
    Maintenance Connection experience preferred.

Skills:

An individual must have the following skills in the Printer Mechanic position:

  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Demonstrate initiative in addressing and/or resolving repair issues.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Physical requirements:

This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include, but are not limited to:

  • Standing for lengthy periods (frequent)
  • Sitting for extended periods (frequent)
  • Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
  • Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)

Working conditions:

An individual who works in the Printer Mechanic position:

  • Must be physically able to lift to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and work in a hot/cold environment.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour schedule.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Must have personal tools up to one (1) inch.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Technical certification in a related field preferred
