Manufacturing Manager

• Directs implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and practices.
• Monitors output through key indicators and adjusts accordingly.
• Plans long-term production requirements to include manpower, machine load and additional resources.
• Oversees and participates in the daily production operations through personal interaction with production employees, floor response to immediate problems, and regular counsel and guidance to manufacturing department supervisors.
• Participates in the development of production plans with representatives from other departments to ensure that production performance standards meet customer requirements.
• Works with other Managers regarding product changes, required production needs, production processes and future strategic objectives.
• Initiates meetings or other communications with other departments regarding the resolution of ongoing problems and the implementation of new procedures or processes or the development of new plans or designs.
• Participates in the research, development and design of long-range strategic objectives of operations
• Requisition s outside purchase supplies for related production area.
• Coordinates with the planning department to ensure accuracy of the daily schedule
• Must be capable of using Operating Software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.
• Oversees all maintenance work order requests for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Monitors work area to ensure that it is safe. Corrects safety deficiencies or brings them to the attention of Maintenance, Engineering or management as appropriate.
• Sets standards of good housekeeping in work areas
• Sets/enforces safety policies and the use of required safety equipment.
• Remains current with respect to technical and supervisory skills. Maintains familiarity with each piece of production machinery.
• Establishes performance standards, monitoring employee performance and focusing the Department’s attention to areas of opportunity to maximize performance.
• Assists in the development of personnel through positive reinforcement and coaching techniques.
• Responsibilities include hiring, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assuring problems are resolved; developing leadership in all people.

High School Diploma plus 2 to 3 years of production related vocational or equivalent experience. Must have at least six years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment to include the following skills and abilities:

• Strong working knowledge of the production manufacturing process and quality requirements in the metal stamping industry.
• General knowledge of internal accounting controls, and financial analysis of expenditures.
• Ability to operate general office equipment including manufacturing/production applications and financial spreadsheet and word processing applications on a microcomputer.
• Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong inter-personnel skills in order to interact with many cross-functional teams to accomplish the Company manufacturing function.
