Regional Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinator — Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Requires evenings and weekends. Salary: $18.00/hour.

Position Description

Position Title:

Regional Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinator. Classification:
Full-Time, FLSA non-exempt.

Reports to:

Regional Library Director. Overall responsibility:
The Regional Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for a variety of outreach programs and services in the counties served by Statesboro Regional Public Libraries. Our system currently consists of eight libraries across six counties. This position coordinates outreach programs and services in each community with the assistance of the local Library Manager and Regional Staff.

Essential Position Functions
  • Prepares and conducts Library Outreach programs and services
  • Assists with delivering materials/books to outreach service locations
  • Prepares and/or hosts programming at outreach or offsite locations
  • Hosts informational tables at events, school event nights, etc.
  • Connects with community members and organizations
  • Gives presentations about the library at events or meetings
  • Fosters a climate of participation, creativity, and teamwork with other staff
  • Maintains and reports statistics from Outreach events and services
  • Drives library vehicle to events and libraries
  • Delivers internal paperwork, materials, etc. throughout our system on a weekly basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned and required by the needs of the organization
Required Qualifications
  • Agree to submit to a background check and have results that meet the expectations of the employer
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License and maintain a Motor Vehicle Report that is within the guidelines of the Library’s Insurance carrier
  • Experience working with the public
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow direction, report progress, and complete assignments
  • Ability to meet the work schedule of the job
  • Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Library experience
  • Public speaking experience
Physical Skills
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to drive and /or ride in a full-size vehicle, daily.
  • Ability to lift and move up to forty (40) pounds and push one hundred (100) pounds, occasionally.

The Regional Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinator is primarily trained, directed, and evaluated by the Regional Library Director or Assistant Director.
