Where You Will Work

3 East is a 20‑bed Medical‑Surgical floor that provides comprehensive care for adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as post‑operative recovery needs. This unit delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment. The unit offers a dynamic environment with diverse patient cases, supportive leadership, ongoing education programs, and a collaborative team culture focused on quality outcomes and patient safety.

Primary

Patient Population
  • Adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and cardiovascular disorders.
  • Post‑operative patients recovering from general, orthopedic, or abdominal surgeries.
  • Patients requiring telemetry monitoring for cardiac observation and complex medication management.

Typical nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 5:1.

We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Additional preferred qualifications.
What You’ll Do
  • Play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skillful communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
About This Location

Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center is a nationally recognized academic medical center, nationally‑verified Level 1 Trauma Center, Magnet® hospital for nursing, and serves a service area of 30 counties and a population of nearly 750,000 persons. The center has over 4,500 employees and a medical staff of approximately 700 physicians. It is licensed for 637 beds, includes pediatrics, medical surgical, trauma, and cardiac surgery.

The emergency department, helipad capability, and urgent care centers treat over 140,000 visitors per year. The center provides community‑based outpatient diagnostic, primary care, wellness, and comprehensive rehabilitation services and is the primary academic hospital for Mercer University School of Medicine. It operates the Doctors Office Building.
