- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital
- Department has 61+ beds with surge capacity
- Patient population includes chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, trauma from MVCs, HTN, stabbings, and mental health cases
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, dependent on zone
- 12‑hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, on a 6‑week schedule
- Required to work 5‑6 weekend shifts per 6‑week cycle
- Must work 75% of holidays, with at least one shift for each major holiday
- May float within the ER and to Baldwin as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis for medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Central Telemetry monitoring in the ER
- Responsibilities include advanced emergency care for a wide range of acute and critical conditions
- Unit support includes CNAs, a unit secretary, charge nurse, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
- Orientation consists of one day for facility and educational modules plus two departmental days
- Scrub color is navy for RNs
- Free parking available on campus
- Team‑oriented, fast‑paced work environment
- First‑time travelers are accepted for this position
- No radius restrictions; local travelers accepted at the same rate
- Manager approval required for time off requests
- Active GA or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ability to pass an EKG competency exam
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm skills required
- Experience with drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed
- Experience with Level 1 Trauma nursing required
- One professional reference from a supervisor or manager within the last year required
- Candidate must not have been employed in a permanent position within the health system in the past year
