Job DetailsThe Mercer Medicine Clinic in Macon, Georgia is searching for an LPN.
Responsibilities- Multi‑task by triaging multiple patients, including obtaining vitals, updating patient information and providing patient education
- Completing referrals (outgoing/incoming), prescription refills, obtaining authorizations, procedure assistance, completing forms, and manning multiple phone calls
- Perform independent assessment skills for patient needs
- Work closely with the physician and consult the physician as needed for patient care
- Provide support for MD to assist in follow‑up to completing forms, returning calls, and other tasks and areas of follow‑up
- Current Georgia Practical Nursing license and some clinical experience involving direct patient care.
- Phlebotomy experience is also required.
- CPR certification must be earned in the first 6 months.
- Possess caring, compassionate qualities with good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Medical office experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to apply standard nursing techniques to a wide variety of patient care situations.
- General knowledge of primary care patients and baseline knowledge concerning cardiac, pulmonology, and endocrine disease processes.
- Experience in the utilization of an electronic medical record for office patients (e.g., eMDs, eClinical Works, etc.).
- Experience with pharmaceutical prior authorizations and point of care testing.
- Ability to perform blood draws and administer injections.
- Perform Basic Life Support and CPR to respond to a patient in cardio/pulmonary arrest.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge to complete medical charting, including ICD and CPT coding.
- Customer service skills with a professional but friendly disposition.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept change.
- Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
- Awareness of when to seek help from supervisor to handle situations.
- Work independently, while possessing sound judgment and understanding as to when to involve the physician.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to communicate effectively.
