Join a highly respected team of Acute Care Surgeons supporting a busy Level I Trauma Center in Macon, Georgia. This is an exciting opportunity for a PA or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to work alongside experienced surgeons and advanced practice providers in a fast‑paced inpatient environment focused on delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Position Highlights- Full‑time, inpatient APP position
- Monday – Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities
- Average patient census of approximately 15 patients per day
- Collaborative team‑based practice with experienced surgeons and APPs
- Opportunity to manage complex surgical and trauma patients
- Work within a premier Level I Trauma Center
- Provide inpatient care for General Surgery and Trauma Surgery patients
- Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care
- Participate in daily rounding and multidisciplinary care discussions
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
- Manage patient admissions, consults, and follow‑up care as appropriate
- Ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care and documentation
- Certified as a PA or Nurse Practitioner with acute care certification
- Be eligible for or possess Georgia licensure
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative hospital environment
- Have excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Possess a passion for trauma and acute care surgery
The Surgery & Weight Management team consists of 8 Physicians and 8 Advanced Practice Providers who work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive surgical and trauma care while maintaining a strong culture of teamwork, education, and clinical excellence.
